Okay, so it’s obviously not going to be a secret now, but I’ve been keeping it quiet for a couple of weeks. Johnny Ming, of SecondCast, contacted me about doing a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode of SecondCast. I mentioned how cool it would be to filter everyone through CrazyTalk so that it seemed real.
Let me just state that I had NO idea how time-consuming it would be. I had to listen to the first 10 minutes of audio repeatedly and cut/paste each individual person’s lines. Then I had to render them through CrazyTalk and cut them into pieces inside the editing program. After that, I had to fit them like puzzle pieces, lining up audio on both the CrazyTalk track and the SecondCast track, so that I knew the lips would line up. I’m really pleased with how it turned out, though. It’s over 50 minutes for your viewing enjoyment.
So without further ado, I present SecondCast #39 “Let’s Skate!”
SecondCast Episode 39 for October 31, 2006. Johnny Ming and the Secondcasters host an homage to Second Life machinima with a full length SL machinima podcast.

It’s my first Ed Wood Festival and I’m super nervous about it. I want to make Ben proud and get a lot of entries for it. Hell, *I* don’t even know the theme to it yet.
Just 10 SHORT days left until the in-world festival. Eep!

My journey to insanity is over! I was contacted by Koz Farina, of Podcast.com and Secondlife.Podcast.com, about being sponsored for my trip to New York for the Machinima Festival. Now I can spread the good word of Second Life to other machinimists.
For those that have heard of Koz, he is also of BlogHUD fame. During the next 20 days, I’ll be blogging my thoughts, doing vlogs, calling in to do audioblogs, and posting footage of the event itself. Stay tuned!
In other news, the panel spots are all full, but my outline of our panel was so awesome, that they might want us to do a workshop for AMAS members! That’s so much cooler in a way! I’m really excited to see the enthusiasm for Second Life machinima.
As for travel info, I arrive on Thursday night, November 2nd, and leave on Monday afternoon, November 6th. That gives me 4 nights of clubbing and 3.5 days of work! If you live in the New York area and I know you from Second Life, contact me if you want to hang out!

A couple of weeks ago, the cast of SecondCast asked me to occasionally guest-host. I donned my headset last week for 2 episodes.
The first one, Episode 33, centers around music in SL, with guests Mike Prevost, of Muse Isle, and Cylindrian Rutabega, a musician. I got the chance to meet Cylindrian at SLCC so it was nice to chat with her again. We discussed such topics as marketing tactics and MySpace stalkers.
Episode 34, which isn’t released yet, will center around current events. Be warned as my mouth makes it quite unsafe for work. We discuss such things as the Voted 5 bannings and Hamlet’s interview on Geek Entertainment Television.
I had a great time and I hope they’ll have me back on. Please let me know what you think!

Baba Yamamoto, of libsl and Baba Sucks! fame, mentioned on IRC that he had a grand plan. He was going to camp the Pooley Auditorium 12 hours before the scheduled Town Hall meeting with Philip. Being that I have a meeting at 11am, when I’m normally asleep, and I’m just about delusional, I asked for a teleport. Being the professional that I am, I immediately donned my udders for a photo opp with him. Now we’re doing the yatta.
We will be posting regular updates on my blog and Baba Sucks, so stay tuned. Come join us in “Camping for Philip!” or show your support by joining the “Gay 4 Philip” group.

Are you tired of digging through your landmarks when you want to go somewhere? Do you have a landmark and have NO CLUE what it’s for? Podcast.com‘s very own, Kosso aka Koz Farina, has developed a sort of landmarking HUD that combines blogging and SLURLs. The appropriately named BlogHUD has been in beta testing for a few months now, but it’s finally gone public today.
What do I love about the BlogHUD? If I go somewhere cool, I want to know WHY it was cool. All I have to do is choose the category of my blog entry and type /9 with a description! Now I can go through and keep track of important locations.
Have you ever been bored and not sure what to do in SL? Check out the website! When someone blogs about something, it gives a handy SLURL so that you can visit the location right from your browser. Now you can reach a whole group of people without spamming them!
Afraid your friends won’t see your blog entry? WorldofSL covers the blogHUD RSS feed! If you’d like, you can also add it to your own feed aggregator.
I already have my own blog. Why do I need to post there? With BlogHUD Pro, you can crosspost to your WordPress, Blogger, or TypePad blogs!
Now what are you waiting for? Click here to get your BlogHUD now!
