This is Neil RRR. Or, it was once. Anyway, I had problems that sound kinda similar to that once, and the solution to the problem was.. Allison took my machine apart and sprayed the crap out of most of it with one of those compressed air things. It worked pretty good for a while after that. Still not perfect, but it'd prolly get you through your project or whatever.. plus compressed air costs $6 or so lol. Honestly, I've had a two month contract signed by the other party *on the morning of the day of the deadline*, and the project manager swing by to say "So, you'll be done this-afternoon, then?" The contract didn't say that. It said 8 weeks. I pointed that out and everyone started panicking. They *really* were expecting to have it done by a certain date, with no relation to the date the work started. Let me guess. As per usual, nobody’s going to move the deadline just because you can’t start work yet.

It might be your power supply not feeding enough juice to it; cards are demanding a lot nowadays. I had a similar blinking effect earlier this year and suspected it was my relatively new psu. Sure enough, the thing blew (though it thankfully didn't take the whole board down with it). New, more thoroughly-researched psu installed and everything's fine. So far. Don't depend on a power supply's advertised numbers and think you're covered. They're often misleading. Something to consider if you haven't. You sure it’s the vidcard?
