Hello moo

In your post you say
“I’m promoting and educating about Machinima.”

I’m not sure how much of the machinima community is aware that Nanoflix is about to release a DVD of Stolen Life an 80min machinima movie starring Claudia Black. It has been three years in the making. The most successful machinima has tended to be short form like Red vs Blue. If Stolen Life does well with the general movie audience it could have a very interesting impact on machinima as it is at the moment.

As I’m sure you can appreciate the firs few weeks are very important to the release of a long form machinima movie such as this. I would appreciate any commentary or thoughts you would like to put out to the machinima community.

Well, outside of 1 semester teaching at a community colllege, I haven't used my degree and a half(half a MA) for anything useful. You always have a shot at getting an education, if you should require one. Sure, if you have kids and a family down the road, it will be more difficult but that doesn't mean it won't be possible SHOULD YOU NEED it. I went to a mediocre state school and there were tons of so called adult students with families and the like. Men and women my parent's age. It's never too late. I personally would be thrilled to not have the debt I have for the good my degree has done me.

"I stopped out after the first semester intending to go back."

As a parent, I can relate to your statement. My daughter started out in pursuit of her dreams, and she too made the decision to cease attending within the first semester, as she was working. She indicated too that she was paying so much for gas commuting back and forth to the university.

It is not that she does not want to go to school.

In the spring she wants to attend a university that is much closer to where she is living.

It is her life, her decision. And as her mother, I will support her either way.

I disagree that lack of a degree will hurt you in the long run. All of us out here are on the bleeding edge of something magnificent. And had you not made that hard choice, you wouldn't be here now. Ask yourself this question? Has Jodie Sweetin been in anything lately? I would say no. You are as famous as her, here. I am been involved computers since 97 and I didnt know what Machinima was until recently. Heck, I had the opportunity to be here when this launched in 2003, but I rejected it. I believe the antihype.
You are gifted and blessed. You have done amazing things will continue to do amazing things. I believe in you. I believe in Sl with all its quirks, issues and problems.

On that note, I am opening a shop called Thunderburst soon. (I dabble in graphic art, so this stretches it, and forces me to look and womens fashion ;) )But I am also building a chapel too (a hospital/airport style one, although definately christian.) When its complete I will let you know. You are welcome to come and video when you want.

Thunderclap

Almost forgot, I am also selling shirts to support the tapporject at tapproject.org
All proceeds go to the unicef world water day fund. I will ahve a box out at Xentilx 77, 130, 39 around friday. Come buy one, everybody. The thread is on Secondcitizen.com
